Bengaluru, July 30: VG Siddhartha, the founder of the popular chain Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) and son-in-law of former Karnataka Chief Minister SM Krishna, has gone missing, the police said. Siddhartha's mobile phone was also unreachable. According to reports, VG Siddhartha was last seen near Netravati river in the Ullal area of Mangaluru on Monday.
A police team was present at the spot where the businessman was last seen. A search operation was underway in Netravati river. Siddhartha has been reported missing from Jappinamogaru, which is very close to Netravathi river and just two to three kilometres from the sea. "We are very concerned that our friend, a very good person and someone who has given jobs to thousands of people is missing since yesterday night," Khader told ANI here. Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and Congress leaders DK Shivakumar and BL Shankar visited SM Krishna's residence in Bengaluru on Tuesday, news agency ANI reported.
"Boat service and the help of local fishermen being taken to conduct search operation in the Netravati river. We are checking with whom all he spoke last," Mangaluru Police Commissioner, Sandeep Patil, told ANI.
