Murshidabad, December 20: A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker and five other people, each of them wearing a skullcap and lungi, were detained by the police in West Bengal. According to a report in Telegraph India, the local people allegedly caught them hurling stones at a train engine and informed the cops. This incident took place in Murshidabad. Murshidabad police said that the six youths were caught by residents of Radhamadhabtala village after they were seen hurling stones at train travelling on the Sealdah-Lalgola line. Villagers said that Abhishek was seen at the forefront of all local saffron party rallies. “We became suspicious when we saw the youths change their clothes near the railway line. We knew Abhishek as he is very vocal about his views. So we decided to confront them," a villager was quoted as saying by Telegraph India.
Meanwhile, BJP district president Gouri Sankar Ghosh said that Abhishek was not associated with the party. However, Telegraph's local sources confirmed that he was a party worker.
