Mumbai, September 12: The Mumbai Traffic Police has issued a traffic notification that will lead to restrictions and diversions in the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) area. These measures are being put in place to facilitate the construction of an underground railway station for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Railway (HSR) project at the MMRDA ground. The restrictions will come into effect from 12:00 AM on Tuesday and are expected to last until June 30, 2024.

According to multiple reports, the affected routes include the closure of roads from the Diamond Junction to the JSW Office and from BKC Road Platina Junction to Motilal Nehru Nagar Trade Center. This will significantly impact traffic flow in the BKC area. To minimise the inconvenience to commuters, the Mumbai Traffic Police has identified alternate routes to help ease the congestion. Car on Fire in Mumbai Videos: Four-Wheeler Goes Up in Flames in Kandivali's Thakur Village, Terrifying Visuals Surface.

For vehicles coming from the MTNL Junction, Razzak Junction, Kurla, and the BKC area through BKC Road Diamond Junction, where they would usually take a left-right turn towards the JSW Office in the Kherwadi area, the new route involves proceeding through Nabard Junction, taking a right turn at Asian Heart Hospital, and continuing towards the JSW Office and Kherwadi area. Vehicles originating from the Kherwadi area and heading towards the BKC area will need to take a left turn from Nabard Junction to access their destination. Mumbai Shocker: Driver Brings 20-Year-Old Businesswoman to Isolated Place on Mumbai-Goa Highway, Molests Her Inside Cab; Investigation Launched.

If vehicles are coming from the MTNL Junction, Razzak Junction, Kurla, and the BKC area and intend to head towards Motilal Nehru Nagar, they should take a left turn at MTNL Junction to reach their destination. Lastly, for vehicles departing from Motilal Nehru Nagar Trade Center and heading towards Platina Junction in the BKC area, they will need to take a left turn and then a right turn at the trade centre to proceed through MTNL Junction towards their destination.

This traffic diversion and closure come at a time when traffic congestion in the BKC area is already a significant concern. Reduced carriageways due to ongoing Metro works and the area's role as a connector for vehicles moving between the eastern and western suburbs have contributed to the problem. In response, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has initiated a comprehensive transportation plan for BKC with the aim of addressing these challenges through improved infrastructure and mobility solutions.

It's important for commuters and residents in the BKC area to plan their routes accordingly and stay updated on any further developments related to traffic management. As construction progresses on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Railway project, these traffic measures will be crucial in ensuring the safety and efficiency of transportation in the area.
