Bulandshahr, August 25: The six accused who were granted bail in the Bulandshahr mob violence and arson case got a grand welcome with cheers and slogans of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’, 'Jai Shri Ram', and ‘Vande Mataram’ as they stepped out of jail on Saturday. The accused, including key conspirator Shikhar Agarwal, were garlanded and people also took turns to click selfies. The accused who were released on bail include Shikhar Agarwal, Jeetu Fauji, Upendra Singh Raghav, Saurav, Hemu and Rohit Raghav. In the clip, which is going viral, the supporting can be seen cheering and sloganeering. Bulandshahr Mob violence accused gets grand welcome:
In December last year, carcasses of cows were found in Mahav village near Bulandshahr following which the violence broke out. A mob of around 400 people violently rampaged the Chingrawathi village. In the violence, Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh and civilian Sumit Kumar died of bullet shots.
Shikhar Agarwal, who was BJP Yuva Morch member, was arrested days after Bulandshahr mob violence. He had also released the video in which he had threatened to kill Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh claiming that he was corrupt.
Later, five people were accused of murder and 33 men including Upendra Raghav and Shikhar Agarwal, were accused of arson and inciting violence. The SIT (Special Investigation Team) has submitted a 3,400-page case diary and over 100-page charge sheet against the 38 accused.
