Bulandshahr, December 9: After the Bulandshahr violence, Manish Mishra has been appointed as the Additional Superintendent of Police, (Rural) Bulandshahr. Mishra will replace Raees Akhtar, who has now been transferred to PAC headquarters, Lucknow. Earlier UP Government had also transferred DSP rank police officer Krishna Bahadur Singh and two other policemen. The decision of transferring these officers was taken on the basis of a report submitted by the Additional Director General of Police S.B. On Friday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the incident was an 'accident' and the death of senior police inspector Subodh Kumar Singh was not a case of mob lynching. Meanwhile, an Army soldier, Jeetendra Malik alias Jeetu Fauji, accused of killing a police officer in Bulandshahr was arrested last night after army handed him to the UP Police for investigations. “We’ve arrested Army jawan Jeetendra Malik, he was handed over by Army at 12:50 am today (Sunday). Preliminary interrogation has been done,” senior superintendent of police, Special Task Force, Abhishek Singh said, reported ANI news agency. Bulandshahr Mob Violence: Slain Cop Subodh Kumar Singh Supervised Probe in Akhlaq Lynching Case.

Earlier on Monday, a mob of at least 400 people violently rampaged in Siyana village after cattle carcasses were found in the nearby area. The ensuing mob in Bulandshahr claimed the life of a Police inspector Subodh Kumar Singh and Sumit Kumar, a local resident. So far, the UP police have booked 90 people for the violence. Meanwhile, police have taken Jeetu Fauji in custody but the prime accused Yogesh Raj is still absconding.
