Bulandshahr Mob Violence: Cab Driver Prashant Natt Arrested by UP Police For 'Killing' Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating Bulandshahr violence has arrested the alleged killer of Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh on Thursday. The accused, Prashant Natt, was arrested from the Bulandshahr-Noida border.
Bulandshar, December 27: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating Bulandshahr violence has arrested the alleged killer of Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh on Thursday. The accused, Prashant Natt, was arrested from the Bulandshahr-Noida border. As per the Uttar Pradesh Police, the accused has confessed to his crime. "Prashant Natt has accepted that he shot inspector Subodh Singh. We are interrogating him and expecting more facts about the incident to emerge," reported NDTV quoting Senior Superintendent of Police, Bulandshahr Prabhakar Chaudhary as saying. The UP police has also identified the man who allegedly snatched the service revolver of the inspector. He has been identified as Johnny and is a resident of Bulandshahr. The names of both Natt and Johnny were not named in the FIR which was filed in connection with the killing of Singh.
The police saw these two accused together while examining the video of the violence. After which the police launched a manhunt operation to nab them. Earlier, the state police named Bajrang Dal Member, Yogesh Raj, as the main accused in the mob killing. Raj has been missing, since the incident. He is still the main accused in instigating the mob in Bulandshahr, reported NDTV. Another accused who was named in the FIR was an army man Jitendra Malik. Inspector Subodh Kumar and a local youth were killed in Bulandshahr on Monday when a mob went on a rampage over allegations of illegal cow slaughter. He was also the Investigating officer (IO) in the Akhlaq lynching case. Singh was attacked by a mob when he and his team had gone to a village to defuse tension after cow carcasses were found in a forest. As per reports, he was first hit with a rock by a mob of around 400 people, who chased his car to a field and shot him dead.
