Lucknow, December 4: Investigating the Bulandshahr mob violence, Uttar Pradesh police on Tuesday have arrested three suspects, detained four and have filed an FIR against 27 people. The police have named local Bajrang Dal leader Yogesh Raj as main accused and along with this have also named VHP leader Upendra Raghav and BJYM leader Shikhar Agarwal in their FIR.

The Police have launched a manhunt for all the accused, mainly Yogesh Raj and other two, and have also named 60 people in FIR for inciting violence in Siyana village of Bulandshahr in which SHO Subodh Kumar Singh and a local – Sumit – lost their lives. Bulandshahr Mob Violence: UP Police Arrests 2 Suspects in Subodh Kumar Singh’s Murder Case, Detains 4 Others

Police have till now arrested three suspects in connection with the rioting case, which spread false rumours over the cow slaughter in the vicinity and violent mob protest in Bulandshahr. During the protest, the mob set ablaze a police post and torched the police vehicle.

Police Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh, lost life to stop the violence, was also the investigating officer of the Akhlaq lynching case in Dadri from September 28, 2015, till November 2015, though a different investigating officer filed the charge sheet in March 2016, informed ADG Law and Order Anand Kumar.

Confirming the post-mortem report of SHO Singh, UP Additional Director General (Law & Order) Anand Kumar said that ‘post-mortem report has confirmed gunshot injury to Subodh Kumar Singh in addition to injuries caused by hard and blunt object. The entry of the bullet is in the left eyebrow’.

The senior IPS officer also confirmed that another policeman accompanying Singh – Sub Inspector Suresh Kumar – sustained critical injuries and referred to Meerut Hospital. Expressing his condolences, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had declared a compensation of Rs 40 lakh for Subodh Kumar Singh’s wife, Rs 10 lakh for parents and a government job for kin. Along with this, Adityanath assured the family of speedy justice and ordered the police to investigate the matter thoroughly.
