New Delhi, September 28: Director General of Border Security Force (BSF) today confirmed that Pakistan Border Action Team (BAT) killed Head Constable Narender Kumar along the International border near Jammu earlier this September. While interacting with media, outgoing DG, BSF KK Sharma said, there are terror launchpads within five to seven kilometres near the IB. He further added that the borders with Pakistan would be more secure in future. He also stated, "This technology is foolproof, no doubt about it. It's only 11 km now but borders with Pakistan & Bangladesh are more than 6500 km. In the future, our borders will be more secure."
BSF Head Constable Narender Kumar was murdered by Pakistan Rangers on the night of September 18. The mutilated body of Kumar was found hours after Pakistan started an unprovoked firing in Ramgarh sector of Jammu on the patrolling party which went ahead for clearing elephant grass or 'Sarkanda'. After the incident, Home Minister Rajnath Singh gave free hand to the BSF to avenge the death of Kumar. The BSF head constable's son Mohit Kumar sought justice from the authorities. The BSF had raised the issue of killing of the jawan with the Pakistan Rangers at the sector level. However, Pakistan denied the role in Kumar's killing.
