Gujarat, March 6: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday apprehended a 50-year-old man in Gujarat who was coming from the Pakistani side. According to a tweet by ANI, the man was apprehended in the Rann of Kutch area of Gujarat during the early hours on Wednesday. As part of the security protocol, the man was held in the alignment of Boundary Pillar 1050 and was taken into custody. The questioning of the man is currently underway.
In February, a woman intruder from Pakistan was shot at and injured by BSF troopers in the Dera Baba Nanak sector of Punjab's Gurdaspur district. The woman, identified as 32-year-old Gulshan, passed away in an Amritsar hospital later. The incident took place when the woman tried to move into Indian territory along the international border between India and Pakistan near the Bangar border outpost (BoP) of BSF. After receiving bullet injuries, the woman was shifted to the government hospital in Dera Baba Nanak town, 275 km from Chandigarh. While the doctors had successfully managed to remove the bullet, her condition continued to deteriorate and later succumbed to her injuries. According to BSF officials, the woman was challenged by troopers to stop and go back but she kept walking. The troopers fired at her as per security protocol.
