Lucknow, November 20: The Muslim petitioner in the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi title suit matter, Iqbal Ansari, on Tuesday said he has no objection if the government brings an ordinance for the construction of Ram Mandir at the disputed place in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya. He said if a law is made for building Ram Mandir, he will obey it.

"We have no objection if an ordinance is brought for the construction of Ram Mandir. If bringing an ordinance will be good for the country, bring it. We are law-abiding citizens, we’ll obey every law," Ansari told news agency ANI. He had earlier said that he was sad that Lord Ram's idol was under the tent, but reiterated that everyone should wait for the verdict of the Supreme Court. Ayodhya Act 1993: When Congress Passed Law For Construction of Ram Mandir And BJP Opposed it.

On October 29, the Supreme Court had adjourned the Ayodhya title suit till January next year to fix a date for the final set of hearing. The apex court was hearing a batch of petitions challenging the 2010 ruling of the Allahabad High Court which divided the disputed land into three parts. The Babri Masjid, built by Mughal emperor Babur in Ayodhya in 1528, was on December 6, 1992, demolished allegedly by Hindu activists, claiming that the mosque was constructed after demolishing a Ram temple that originally stood there.
