The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Wednesday successfully test fired a BrahMos air version missile from its frontline Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter aircraft.

New Delhi, May 22: The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Wednesday successfully test fired BrahMos air version missile from its frontline Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter aircraft. According to the IAF, the launch from the aircraft was smooth and the missile followed the desired trajectory before directly hitting the land target. BrahMos Supersonic Cruise Missile Test Fired From Odisha’s Chandipur.

Indian Air Force is planning of having 40 Sukhoi Su-30MKI jets fitted with the BrahMos (designated PJ-10) missiles which can carry out strikes in the enemy targets. The missiles have been made lighter for being carried on the plane. The BrahMos can be a game changer for country's air combat due to the lethality of the missile.

The BrahMos is a middle-range ramjet supersonic cruise missile that can be launched from ships, submarine, aircraft, and land. BrahMos is the fastest supersonic cruise missile in the world.
