New Delhi, December 15: In a bizarre incident, the IndiGo security on Saturday received a bomb threat call at Mumbai Airport. According to a tweet by ANI, the bomb threat was received for IndiGo's Mumbai-Delhi flight. Reports inform that a passenger travelling with another private carrier told the IndiGo staff at Mumbai airport that there could be a bomb on Mumbai-Delhi flight 6E 3612. The passenger was found to be mentally unsound. Operations have resumed however the flight was delayed by one hour.
Earlier in the day, IndiGo received a similar threat for its Mumbai- Lucknow flight. The flight which was scheduled via Delhi was grounded on Saturday after a woman warned the airline of bomb threat, airport sources said. Sources informed that the aircraft wa s taken to an isolated bay for a secondary ladder point check after a Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) found the threat as “specific”.

According to a report by PTI, the security agencies later declared the plane safe. The flight was scheduled to depart at 6.05 am. “A woman passenger travelling to Delhi on Go Air flight G8 329 approached an IndiGo check-in counter at T1 and informed that there was a bomb in IndiGo’s flight 6E 3612 (operating on Mumbai – Delhi/Lucknow route),” an airport source said.
