Jabalpur, June 15: In a shocking case, a local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was murdered and his body was buried in Bargi Assembly constituency of Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur district. The body was buried into the sand. The deceased has been identified as Rishabh Jain. It is suspected that Jain was murdered and later his body was buried in Panchvati area in Bhedhaghat town. When police reached the incident spot, "the end" was written on the sand and his body was dug out. The victim was having deep injury marks on his head. His body has been sent for post-mortem. Jain was Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Nagar administration in Bhedaghat. The latter was campaigning against the illegal sand mining and illicit liquor trade in the area. His body was found when police started a search operation after a missing complaint was filed on Thursday.

In January, several BJP workers were reportedly murdered in the state. On January 20, saffron party leader Manoj Thakre was found dead in Barwani district. BJP had termed these killings a result of political enmity and said its workers are being targeted.
