Samastipur, April 23: In Bihar's Samastipur district, a horrible incident unfolded as a 28-year-old woman lost her life during a birth control surgery conducted by a compounder at a private clinic in the absence of doctors. The incident has sparked outrage, with the family members of the deceased staging a protest at the clinic premises. Despite the gravity of the situation, the medical staff managed to evade arrest, intensifying the distress of the victim's family.

According to a report by the Times of India, the woman, identified as Babita Devi, was admitted to the clinic located on Patori Road under Musrigharari police station on Sunday, April 21. Despite the absence of a qualified physician, the compounder proceeded with the surgery. However, the lack of proper medical supervision and expertise became evident as the procedure unfolded. Despite efforts to transfer her to another medical facility, Babita Devi succumbed to complications arising from the botched surgery. The compounder, identified as the individual responsible for the botched procedure, is also currently evading authorities. The Musrigharari police have initiated investigations into the matter, with raids underway to apprehend the absconding compounder. However, the medical staff involved remain at large even after 24 hours. Authorities have registered a complaint against the clinic, the doctor, and the medical staff, signalling the commencement of legal proceedings.
