Raipur, September 1: In a startling incident coming to the fore from Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur, a woman and her male associate were caught performing tantric rituals near a burning pyre late Saturday night at Muktidham in Sirgitti Bannak Chowk. The duo was found conducting the rituals to improve the health of the man’s nephew, who is suffering from cancer.

An Amar Ujala report said eyewitnesses reported that the pair were seen worshipping with photographs, candles, and diyas before the pyre. The unusual activity caused alarm among the locals, who initially hesitated but eventually gathered the courage to approach the scene. Sirgitti police are investigating an incident involving tantric rituals performed near a burning pyre at Muktidham in Bilaspur. Station in-charge Vijay Chaudhary said Shankar, a resident of New Colony, had called an acquaintance from outside to perform the rituals in an attempt to improve the health of his cancer-stricken nephew.
