New Delhi, December 15: The chairperson of Delhi Commission of Women (DCW), Swati Jai Hind, in a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has demanded strict action against the alleged rapists of a minor girl, who was gangraped for 10 years. The DCW chairperson also requested the UP CM to take action against Chandpur, Bijnor police, for not taking appropriate steps to get justice to the victim and refusing to file her complaint  initially. UP Rape Case: Minor Raped by 17-Year-old Neighbour Near Her House In Chandauli, Culprit Absconding.

In the letter written to Yogi Adityanath, Swati Jai Hind has narrated the ordeal the victim has had to gone through. The DCW chairperson has written how the victim was sold by her father at the age of 12 to a 65-year-old tuition teacher for Rs 40,000. The girl informed the commission that four men took turns to rape her in Bijnor, and that she was physically beaten and abused whenever she tried to flee the captive. The victim was later forced to move in with one of the accused in Bijnor and gave birth to a girl at the age of 17. The victim has alleged that the accused used to burn the little girl with cigarette and continued abusing her as well.  She also said that she used to be 'drugged' around 8 PM every night, and raped. The victim alleged that she used to be chained in a storeroom to prevent her from escaping. However, she managed to escape and reached Chandpur police station. However, the Chandpur police initially refused to help the girl and it was only after several days of pleading that the police registered a case under section 354, 342, 376 and other sections of IPC and POCSO act. The DCW chairperson has asked for an inquiry in the case and also demanded action against Chandpur police to stop such incidents in the future.
