Buxar, September 15: A man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for repeatedly raping his own minor daughters over a period of ten years in Bihar's Buxar district. On Tuesday, September 12, a local POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) court in Buxar district handed down a life sentence to the accused father, Binod Kumar Singh, and the tantrik, Ajay Kumar. Additionally, the mother and aunt of the rape survivors were sentenced to 20 years in prison for instigating the heinous crimes.

According to multiple reports, the victims, two sisters, had endured a decade of sexual abuse before they mustered the courage to report the matter to the police. This case highlights the urgency of addressing deep-rooted patriarchal values and illiteracy that contribute to such horrifying incidents. Social scientists expressed their shock and emphasised that women must challenge the existing patriarchal system themselves to bring about meaningful change. Bihar Horrific Gang Rape Case: Minor Tribal Girl, on Way to Wedding, Gang-Raped by 8 in Bihar's Bagaha District.

The father's actions were motivated by a belief that daughters are considered "paraya dhan" (someone else's wealth) and a burden on resources, while sons are seen as natural inheritors and holders of special rights in family matters. In 2012, after consulting a local Tantrik to have a son, the father was advised to rape his own daughters, an act he carried out until the birth of a son. However, the tantrik continued to exert control and advised the father to persist in his horrifying actions. Bihar Shocker: Woman Slits Rapist's Genitals in Self-Defence in Banka After Man Barges Into Home and Rapes Her; Accused Arrested.

The sisters managed to escape from their home in May of the previous year and reported their ordeal to the local police. A swift investigation and trial ensued, ultimately resulting in the conviction of all the accused individuals involved in this appalling case. To protect the privacy of the victims, their identities have not been disclosed, in accordance with Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault.
