Arwal, July 25: A horrifying crime has emerged from Jamuhari village in Bihar's Arwal district, where 76-year-old retired teacher Birbal Prasad allegedly murdered his wife, Sumati Sinha, and dismembered her body. He suspected his wife of having an extramarital affair with his deceased uncle who passed away 8 years ago. The brutal act, which took place under Mehendia police station jurisdiction, has left the local community in shock.

According to a report in Hindustan, the grisly scene was discovered around 1 pm when the couple's grandson returned from school and found the house covered in blood. Superintendent of Police (SP) Arwal, Rajendra Kumar Bhil, confirmed that Prasad had confessed to the crime and was subsequently remanded to judicial custody. Before committing the murder, Prasad confined other family members to a room.
During the initial investigation, police found that Sumati Sinha's body had been dismembered into approximately 12 pieces. The murder weapon was seized, and a forensic team is examining the crime scene for further evidence.
The incident has left the residents of Jamuhari village grappling with the shocking details of the crime.
