Bihar Shelter Home Deaths: NGO Questioned After Death of 2 Women at Aasra Home in Patna

Patna, August 12: The country has not even recovered from the news of Muzaffarpur shelter home rape case and Deoria shelter home abuse of minors, and a new such incident is coming to light in Bihar's 'Aasra Home' in Patna. An 18-year-old girl and another 40-year-old woman were found dead at a shelter home in Patna on Saturday, reported news agency IANS.

The shocking fact is that neither the police nor the Social Welfare Department were informed about the incident.

A police team along with department officials reportedly visited the shelter home located in the city's Rajiv Hagar area and have interrogated the staff. The police has not made the findings public as of now. The cause of the women's death was not immediately known.

"2 girls were brought dead yesterday. As per protocol, we informed police and conducted postmortem. As they were brought dead there's no question of ailment. Postmortem will reveal cause of the deaths," said Superintendent, Patna Medical College and Hospital to news agency ANI.

Patna District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police have reached Rajeev Nagar police station to question the five people related to an NGO, who have been detained and are being questioned in connection with the case, reported news agency ANI.
