Muzaffarpur, June 17: In a shocking development from Bihar’s Muzaffarpur, over 100 young girls were allegedly kept in captivity in Ahiyarpur area after being promised lucrative job offers. The women were raped on multiple occasions by a group of nine people and thrashed with belts. The allegations came to light after a video of one of the victims went viral on social media. Police have booked all the nine accused in this case.

The victim, who shared her ordeal in the video, claimed she was lured by Tilak Singh, an employee of a DVR company, through Facebook. Singh offered her a job with a handsome salary, and she deposited a training fee of Rs 20,000. However, upon joining, she was confined in a room with many other girls in Muzaffarpur. She was then instructed by Tilak Singh and the company's MD, Manish Sinha, to recruit 50 more girls to the company, promising a salary hike to Rs 50,000. When she failed to do so, she was subjected to physical violence.

The victim further alleged that Tilak Singh coerced her into a physical relationship, promising marriage. After police raids in Muzaffarpur, she was moved to Hajipur, where Singh forcibly married her and kept her in captivity. When she insisted on returning home, Manish Sinha and his accomplices wiped data from her phone in Patna before sending her back to Muzaffarpur.

Despite reporting the incident to the police, the victim was allegedly abducted by the accused from her hometown and taken to Gorakhpur, then back to Muzaffarpur, where she managed to escape and filed a complaint in court.

Deputy SP Vinita Sinha said "We recorded the statement of the complainant as well as several other victims. The complaint revealed that the accused first approached her through social media in June 2022 and asked her to visit Muzaffarpur to get a good job.”

"When she came to Muzaffarpur, she was first kept in a room. Several other young girls were also staying there. Later, they were shifted to an undisclosed location and all were engaged in making calls to young women and offering them lucrative jobs in their forged firm," the officer said.

The police have launched an investigation into the matter.
