Bettiah, October 14: In Bihar's Bettiah, the tragic murder of 14-year-old Ashish Sah, a Class 9 student and the son of a local jeweller, has rattled the community. The gruesome incident unfolded after Ashish was kidnapped by his girlfriend's younger brother and three friends. The series of events began when Ashish left for Kumarbagh High School but did not return home after school hours, causing great distress to his family. His bag and bicycle were discovered on the school premises, deepening concerns about his whereabouts.

According to multiple reports, adding to the family's anguish, they received a ransom call demanding a staggering sum of Rs 20 lakh. Alarmed by the situation, the family promptly contacted the police, initiating an investigation into Ashish's disappearance. Tragically, the subsequent investigation revealed a chilling truth. The perpetrators not only gouged out Ashish's eyes but also bound his hands and feet before discarding his lifeless body in a nearby pond. In response, the police took swift action, leading to the apprehension of all four suspects, who were approximately 16 years old. Prompt police action led to the arrest of all four suspects, all around 16 years old, with the recovery of the mobile phone used in the crime. As reported by the Bettiah police, the three arrested accused were identified as Raushan Kumar, Ramu Kumar and Rajbali Sah. The fourth one is a minor whose sim card was used for making the ransom call.
