Patna, September 8: In a tragic incident in Bihar's Saran district, a 15-year-old boy died after a self-styled doctor allegedly performed a gallbladder stone removal surgery by watching YouTube videos. The incident occurred at Ganpati Hospital, where the boy was initially admitted for severe vomiting.

According to the report published by Hindustan, the deceased has been identified as Krishna Kumar. The boy's family said the vomiting had subsided after admission, but the doctor, identified as Ajit Kumar Puri, insisted on performing surgery. The family claimed that Puri conducted the operation without their consent and relied on YouTube videos for guidance. Unfortunately, Krishna Kumar died en route, and the doctor, along with his staff, abandoned the boy's body hospital and fled the scene. Krishna Kumar's grandfather, Prahlad Prasad Shaw, recounted the harrowing experience, stating that the boy was in pain during the procedure. When questioned, the doctor reportedly snapped at the family, asking if they were medical professionals. The family admitted they were unaware of the doctor's qualifications and had sought treatment at Ganpati Hospital to stop the vomiting. They now believe the doctor was unqualified and self-styled. Police have registered an FIR and sent the boy's body for an autopsy. Efforts are underway to locate the doctor and the hospital staff who have gone missing. Other patients at the nursing home have also been abandoned following the staff's disappearance.
