The episode, unfolding during dinner at the college mess on Thursday evening, sparked immediate health concerns as students complained of nausea, vomiting, and giddiness, necessitating urgent medical attention at Sadar Hospital.
According to the Times of India report, the incident came to light on Thursday evening, June 13, after 11 students were rushed to Sadar Hospital for treatment. It was there that the students informed the attending doctor, Dr Anita Kumari, of "snake remains" found in their dinner served at the college mess. Although the civil surgeon, Dr Kumari, confirmed the presence of snake pieces in the food caused significant distress and warranted immediate medical attention, the clarity on the nature of the contamination was limited. Following the incident, the college authorities took immediate action by imposing a monetary fine on the food vendor and subsequently replacing the vendor with another.
