Patna, July 15: A question in the Bihar Civil Service examination surprised candidates and they were asked to answer if the role of governor in the state, was that of a “puppet”. The question read, “Critically examine the role of Governor in the state politics in India, Particularly in Bihar. After the controversy, the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) immediately clarified. The commission said that its members had no role in the setting of questions. The officials blamed the teacher who set. According to reports, they, however, found nothing wrong in the question except the word “puppet” or “kathputli”.

The organisation also issued an apology letter, reported NDTV. Meanwhile, the person who put the question in the BPSC Mains Exam was asked for an explanation. He was barred from setting a question paper in future by putting him on a blacklist. In the same paper, there was another question that asked students to look into the pro and cons of a large number of parties contesting in an election.  Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) Says no Provision of Minimum Attendance in Schools For Students Appearing for Board.

In the past too, various embarrassing incidents in schools and public exams in the state were reported. In 2016, questions were raised on the education system in Bihar after an intermediate Arts topper Ruby Rai said that political science taught cooking. Meanwhile, two other toppers were also failed to answer basic questions.
