In a significant border-related incident, a married couple from California was apprehended by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel on Saturday while attempting to illegally cross into Nepal from India without valid travel documents. The couple had reportedly been trying to leave India without the necessary documentation to enter Nepal. Alongside the US nationals, two local individuals were also arrested for allegedly assisting the couple in their attempt to cross the border. These individuals are believed to have provided logistical support to the couple during their stay in the Jainagar area, close to the Indo-Nepal border. The local suspects are now facing charges related to aiding and abetting illegal border activities.

A formal case has been registered against the couple and the local individuals involved. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter, working to uncover the full extent of the network that may have facilitated the illegal border crossing. The arrested individuals are being held for further questioning as law enforcement agencies analyse the evidence and probe any potential connections to other illegal border activities.
