Patna, August 25: In view of the rising number of land disputes and crimes in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led government has reportedly decided to conduct land surveys in over 45,000 villages of the state. According to several news reports, the state government has started Bihar Jamin Survey or Bhumi Survey (Land Survey) from Tuesday, August 20, across the state. While the Bihar Bhumi survey is aimed at recording all updates and information related to the land, rumours suggest that the state government is going to take away the land of people. However, that's not true.

Amid the Bhumi survey or land survey in the state, reports suggest that people have doubts and several questions about the Jamin survey and the kind of documents required for the survey in Bihar. From which documents to submit for land survey to how to submit, let's know how the bhumi survey will be conducted in Bihar. As per various reports, the aim of the Bhumi survey (land survey) is to give people ownership rights to their land and not snatch their property. People to Get Ownership of Their Land

Hence, the Nitish Kumar government is conducting the Bihar Jamin Survey (land survey) to update all land records across the state and the survey is the first step in that direction. To take part in the Bihar Bhumi survey land survey), people have to submit a few important documents to update the land records in Bihar. It is learned that by taking part in the Bihar Bhumi survey, people will get ownership of their land. If an individual wants to get his or her land surveyed in Bihar, then they will have to submit documents these documents will depend on whether the land is in the person's name or other family members.

Documents to Submit for Land Survey

If the land is in an individual's name the person has to submit documents supporting their identity. However, if the land was in one's parents, grandparents or other family members' names and they are no longer alive then the person has to submit documents of the land owner as well themselves. In case the land is ancestral, then one has to show Khatihan and even provide one's genealogy to establish that the individual has an ancestral right to that land.

Additionally, for ancestral property, individuals can also submit death certificates of their parents, grandparents or family members on whose name the land is to establish that they had ownership of the land. If the land has been purchased from someone else, then an individual has to provide documents related to that purchase. How to Apply for the Bihar Bhumi Survey:

To apply online, people have to visit the official website of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department of Bihar Government at hdlrs.bihar.gov.in. Post this, one has to fill out the land survey form and upload all related documents. Following the filling out the form and uploading documents, people have to click on submit. After this, they will receive a token number, which will be useful to track one's application in future.

The documents to be submitted for the Bihar Bhumi survey (land survey) must also include information about the area, boundary and khesra of the land in the self-declaration form. Besides, a photocopy of the jamabandi i.e. land revenue and receipt will also have to be submitted.
