Patna, December 21: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Lalu Prasad's party, has given call for a Bihar bandh today, i.e. on December 21 to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The party has alleged that the CAA has blown the Indian Constitution to smithereens. As a mark of protest, RJD protesters gathered on the streets, burned tyres and raised slogans against the recently amended CAA. Several RJD activists took off their shirt at Ganj Chowk in Darbhanga and blocked roads.

Angry protesters set fire to the road in Patna Bhikhana hill, thus jamming the Patna bypass while Jogbani-Katihar passenger train was stopped by protesters at Forbesganj station of Araria. According to reports by local media, RJD workers got to streets at Ramashish Chowk in Hajipur and jammed the road with cattle. According to a tweet by ANI, the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) party workers also joined the protest and broke barricades during demonstration in Patna against the Citizenship Amendment ActCAA Protests: 'Those Born Before 1987 or Whose Parents Are Born Before 1987 Are Indians', Says Government.

The RJD had also processions in all districts, blocks and town on Friday, including in state capital Patna. Tejashwi Yadav, RJD leader and Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly, had warned the administration that if it harms RJD supporters, the consequences will be bad. Anti-CAA Protests: MHA Issues Statement For Agitators, Says 'People Have The Right to go Court'.

According to reports, the bandh which was initially scheduled for December 22, but was later preponed so that the police recruitment exams on Sunday were not affected and held smoothly. Tejashwi, Lalu's younger son and heir apparent urged all political and non-political outfits having "faith in the Constitution and the principle of justice" to take part in bandh on Saturday.
