Patna, August 1: A three-year-old girl who was stuck in a 110 feet deep borewell in Munger since Tuesday has finally been rescued after over 24 hours. The incident took place in Bihar's Munger district on Tuesday afternoon. The girl, identified as Sanno, fell while she was playing outside her grandfather's house. The borewell was being dug just outside the house in Murgiachak area.
As soon as the incident was reported, a disaster response team was pressed into service to rescue the girl. The team dug a parallel hole to get in touch with the girl and pushed Oxygen supply, CCTV inside the borewell. Also, rods were placed to prevent the kid from slipping further down the borewell.
Reports inform that the NDRF team was called from Patna to help in the rescue effort which has been continuing for over 24 hours. Reports inform that the girl fell around 4 pm on Tuesday and could be heard crying.
On Tuesday, State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) official Sanjeev Kumar informed that the girl was given oxygen and all arrangements for her safety was made. "We've placed rods to ensure that she doesn't fall further down. It might take another 4 hours to rescue her," he added.
