Bhopal, July 6: A 32-year-old man killed his friend with an axe after a dispute over payment of liquor bill. The incident took place on July 5 in Nazirabad in Bhopal district of Madhya Pradesh. The deceased was identified as 23-year-old Golu Ahirwar who was a resident of Sindhora village in Nazirabad. The accused Radheshyam Mehar is absconding. Golu and Radheshyam were at a country liquor shop when a dispute took place between them over who would pay the bill for the liquor, according to a report by TOI. The verbal spat soon intensified and drunk Radheshyam attacked Golu with an axe, the report added. The attack left Golu with serious injuries on his head and neck. Soon, Golu beld to death.
Radheshyam fled the scene after killing Golu. A fruitseller nearby called the police and informed about the incident. Police registered a case of murder against Radheshyam and a manhunt has been launched to nab him. A few days back, a similar incident had happened in Ahmedabad where a 25-year-old man allegedly stabbed his friend for refusing to buy tobacco (gutka) for him.
The incident had taken place in Vejalpur neighbourhood in Gujarat's Ahmedabad on the night of June 16. The accused, identified as Aman Shaikh, had stabbed 21-year-old Sewan Qureshi when the latter refused to buy gutka for him.
