Bhopal, August 25: In a shocking incident in Bhopal's Koh-e-Fiza locality, a Class 10 student was allegedly kidnapped and assaulted by his classmate and four other teenagers following a dispute over seating arrangements. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon outside a private school.
According to a report in TOI, the conflict began earlier in the week when the victim accidentally injured a classmate while moving a bench in their classroom, leading to a heated argument. Seeking revenge, the accused, a 16-year-old student, called his friends to the school on Saturday. The group forcibly abducted the victim, driving him in an SUV to Saifia College Ground, where they held him hostage and beat him. The victim’s friends quickly informed his father about the situation. When the father called his son's mobile phone, one of the attackers answered, threatening him and demanding he come to the location. The father arrived at the scene with police officers, causing the attackers to flee, leaving the injured student behind. The Koh-e-Fiza police have registered a case against the five accused, including the minor classmate, under relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) for abduction and assault. Some of the accused have been taken into custody, and further investigations are ongoing.
DCP Riyaz Iqbal confirmed the incident, stating that the situation stemmed from a minor injury that escalated into a serious conflict. The police are continuing their efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects involved in the crime.
