Bhopal, Aug 12: The fourth victim in the Bhopal hostel rapes case has revealed chilling details of the trauma which she went through over the last six months. In her statement before the Indore police, the 23-year-old said she raped on numerous occasions since January.
The victim, who belongs to Dhar district, claimed that the accused director of the hostel, Ashwani Sharma, used to force her for watching porn films and sexually assaulted her. When she attempted to resist, Sharma used to physically brutalise her, the victim said in her complaint.
The diary of complaint will be forwarded by the Indore police to their counterparts in Bhopal, who are probing the case against Sharma.
The horror underway in the hostel for the last six months was unravelled on Wednesday after a 20-year-old victim, who is speech and hearing impaired, escaped and approached the police.
Sharma was subsequently nabbed by the police and sent into custody.
The hostel where the alleged sexual assaults were committed is based in Crystal Ideal City in Awadhpuri. Based on the preliminary probe, the police has levelled charges of ape, intimidation, wrongful confinement against Sharma.
The case has also been raised by the Opposition, which has accused Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan of being linked to Sharma. Congress spokesperson Shobha Ozha released a video in which the accused is seen touching the feet of Chouhan.
Congress' Madhya Pradesh in-charge Kamal Nath has written to Chouhan seeking strict action against the accused at the earliest.
The BJP, however, has denied any links of the CM with the accused. Party spokesperson Rahul Kothari cited the swift action taken by the police against Sharma to dismiss the allegations levelled by the Congress. "The Opposition should be ashamed for politicising such a sensitive case," he added.
