Hyderabad, June 30: The Hyderabad Police on Sunday busted another cricket betting racket and arrested four men in for their involvement in an organised scam. According to a tweet by ANI, four including main accused Vishal Lodya has been arrested and an amount of Rs 2,35,000 cash has been seized. Reports inform that the Police has also seized four mobiles phones from the fraudsters in a series of police raids in the city. According to reports, a joint team of the Commissioner's Task Force North Zone and local police under the limits of Charminar and Moghalpura Police Station conducted the raids simultaneously at different places in the city. The Police had got a credible tip-off about the betting racket from sources. The arrested men and the seized material, have been handed over to concerned police station for further investigation.
Reports inform that all the four men allegedly organized cricket bets and collected money from punters. With the racket, going on for a long time now, the bookies had also allegedly collected huge amounts of cash from agents and punters during the June 27, ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 match held at Emirates Old Trafford in England.
Earlier this month, a similar racket was busted in Kolkata where nine people were arrested for allegedly betting in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
