Bengaluru, March 6: Illegal refilling of the gas cylinder has become so normal across the country that people are not afraid of accidents. A 13-year-old boy died on Sunday after a 5kg LPG cylinder exploded and injured his head at Gulbarga Colony in Guddadahalli, in north Bengaluru.
According to a report published in the Times of India, the gas cylinders were being filled in a house next to the house of Mahesh, who died. Police found out that he was standing outside his house, watching the gas being filled into the cylinder at around 11:30 am in the morning.
He used to study in Class 6 at a government school. He was the second child of daily wage workers, Mallappa and Saraswati. Apart from him, his parents have two more sons. People filling the cylinder escaped the illegal LPG cylinder unit, which was just next to their house of Mahesh. The cylinder burst and went far due to huge force. It hit the head of Mahesh. "We have searched the house where the illegal refilling was held. We found four cylinders and a refilling kit from the spot," said a Hebbal police officer. While the miscreants have been absconding, search operations are underway.
