Bengaluru, August 16: A shocking incident has come to light from Karnatak's Bengaluru, where a youth allegedly attacked a man with a machete in Hosakerehalli. The incident occurred on the night of August 10, when the accused spotted three people smoking near a bakery in Hosakerehalli and raised objection to them speaking aloud in his presence. When one of the three replied, saying he didn't know him, the accused removed a machete and attacked the man.

The accused, arrested after the incident, has been identified as Charan alias Charlie (23), a resident of Hosakerehalli in Banashankari, reports TOI. After his arrest on Wednesday, August 13, the accused was remanded in judicial custody after being produced before a city court. In his complaint, Naik told police that he and his two friends were talking to each other while smoking outside the bakery on Hosakerehalli Main Road. At the same time, the accused came with a friend of his and started abusing them. Charlie also asked them how they were talking aloud even after seeing him. Naik said the accused wanted to know if they were scared of him.

The complainant told cops he had seen Charlie in the area but did not know him personally. So, he told Charlie he did not know who he was and that he had no reason to get scared of him. Following this, the accused shouted at the trio and said he would send a message to the residents of the area. After this, the accused removed a machete and started chasing Naik as the trio started running. Cops said that the victim sustained to his chest, shoulder, and hands. A few passersby tried to stop Charlie, but the accused escaped on a scooter after brandishing the weapon. Naik was rushed to a hospital, where he was said to be stable. Meanwhile, the police have booked Charlie under various Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections.
