Bengaluru, August 21: An 18-year-old youth in Bengaluru was abducted and bobbitised allegedly by five transgender persons on July 12, 2024. The victim was also forced to work as a sex worker by the accused transgenders. The complaint of this incident was filed on August 16, and since then, the Bengaluru police have identified and booked five accused.

The accused transgender persons, who allegedly bobbitised the youth, were identified as Chitra, Ashwini, Kajal, Preethi and Mugila as per the police. An investigation has been initiated into the matter, and the five accused were charged under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

How Did the Alleged Bobbitisation Happen?

The victim, a resident of DJ Halli locality in Bengaluru, used to work in a tea shop when he first came across the accused transgender persons and befriended them. As per the complaint lodged, the victim was lured by these accused transgender people by the promise of help to make some fast money. However, when the victim refused their offer, these accused allegedly kidnapped and made him beg. Later, around 8:30 PM on July 12, the accused transgender persons visited the victim again and apparently told him to consider how much more he could earn begging as a female rather than a male (which amounted to around INR 2,000 a day). It was after this incident the police informed, as per a report of Indian Express, that the accused had injected the victim with chemicals to make him unconscious. When he gained consciousness, he found his sexual organ mutilated and a pipe-like thing installed in its place. On August 3, the victim was confined inside a house, wherein he was directed to work as a sex worker following an "ritual". However, the victim managed to escape and eventually filed a complaint against these accused. The police then took cognisance of the matter, conducted the investigation, and booked the accused mentioned.

A case was further registered against these five accused, who were charged under Sections 118 (2) (Voluntarily causing hurt), 140(4) (kidnapping for abduction), 3(5) (criminal act with common intention), 127(4) (wrongful restraint for more than 10 days), 351(2) (criminal intimidation) and 351(3) (criminal intimidation by treating to cause death or grievous hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
