Bengaluru, June 14: A shocking incident of murder has come to light from Karnataka, where a mother allegedly killed her three-year-old autistic daughter in Bengaluru. The deceased girl has been identified as Prithika. Police officials said that the accused, Ramya, strangled her autistic daughter to death in her house at Subramanyapura in Banashankari, south Bengaluru.

The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon, June 13, reports the Times of India.  Preliminary investigation revealed that the woman killed her infant daughter by strangling Prithika with a dupatta. After killing her daughter, Ramya called her brother-in-law and informed him about the alleged murder. Woman Strangles Infant Daughter to Death

After being alerted by hospital authorities, cops reached the hospital and arrested Ramya. In the meantime, Ramya's brother-in-law also reached the hospital and questioned her as to why she killed her daughter. Ramya told him that she killed Prithika as she was autistic. During interrogation, cops learned that Ramya was disturbed over Prithika's condition as her daughter was not admitted to the school due to autism.

Accused Woman Lived in Bangalore Since Past 10 Years

In her confession, Ramya told cops that she sent her other daughter to preschool before executing her plan. At the crime scene, cops found a note written by Ramya stating, "I have killed my daughter". Police officials also learned that Ramya, who hails from Tamil Nadu, was married to Venkatesh, who is working as a software engineer in Norway. She has been staying in Bengaluru with her twin daughters for the past 10 years. After Ramya's arrest, her parents took the other daughter with them. Meanwhile, a senior official said that Ramya could be subjected to treatment for her distress after her medical test is conducted and she is produced before the court.
