In a shocking incident in Bengaluru, a woman allegedly stabbed her husband for refusing to eat food prepared by her mother. Based on husband's complaint, the police registered a case against the woman.
Bengaluru, July 3: A petty fight between a man and his wife escalated as the wife repeatedly stabbed her husband with a pair of scissors for refusing dinner prepared by his mother-in-law. The horrific incident took place around 11:30 pm on June 26 at Hosakerehalli in Banashankari 3rd Stage. Following the incident, the victim, Raj (name changed) lodged a complaint against his wife Rekha (name changed), based on which a case was registered.
According to a report of Times of India, Raj, who is from Tamil Nadu, and Rekha met each other through a common friend. They got married in 2021 after falling in love. On June 26, Raj said he dropped Rekha and their minor son after a park visit around 9 pm. He then went to a nearby bar-cum-restaurant where he had food and alcohol. When he return to his house, Rekha offered him food prepared by her mother. Raj said he declined to eat as he had food at the hotel. His refusal reportedly did not go well with Rekha. "Around 11.30 pm, while she was going to take a bath, she started scolding me for not eating the food, saying that I do not eat the food she prepares, but when my mother does, I eat," Raj was quoted as saying. Rekha allegedly became furious when Raj scolded her for dragging his mother into the fight. "In the fit of rage, she got a scissor and tried to stab me in the neck. According to Raj, Rekha continued to stab him on his hands. "When I was walking out of the house to save myself, she stabbed me in the back. I rushed to her parents’ house and complained to her mother. She also scolded me and asked me to file a complaint, if I wish," he said.
After receiving treatment, Raj lodged a complaint based on which the police booked Rekha under sections 324 (causing hurt by dangerous weapon or means), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. Meanwhile, Rekha lodged a counter complaint against Raj. Further investigation is underway.
