Bengaluru, October 20: In a heartbreaking incident, a 19-year-old girl, Shravya, took her own life in Bengaluru’s Chamarajpet on Saturday morning after a minor argument with her elder sister over a bedsheet. Shravya, a second-year BBA student at a private college in Channasandra, reportedly had a disagreement with her sister the previous night.
TOI reported that around 6 AM, when Shravya’s mother knocked on her bedroom door and received no response, the family broke in, only to find her hanging from the ceiling. No suicide note was found at the scene. Friends and gymmates revealed that Shravya had been emotionally distressed due to frequent arguments between her parents, which may have contributed to her decision to take this drastic step. Bengaluru police have registered a case of unnatural death, and an investigation is underway to determine further details. This incident comes just a month after another suicide in Bengaluru, where 20-year-old Ayyappa, a second-year degree student, ended his life after his mother refused to buy him a bike due to financial difficulties. Ayyappa had been requesting a new bike, but his mother, who had been working as a housekeeper since the death of his father six years ago, was unable to afford one.
