Bengaluru, November 13: In a daring robbery in Bengaluru, the owner of Sampige Theatre was drugged and looted by his house help and a security guard. The suspects sedated the victim at his Jayanagar home before stealing valuables. Following an investigation, police arrested three individuals after identifying them through nearby CCTV footage.

According to a report, On October 21, while NV Nagesh was alone at his Jayanagar home, his house help, Ganesh, and his wife, Geetha, drugged his drink with sedatives. Once Nagesh passed out, the couple called three Nepali accomplices to the house, and together, they stole gold and silver jewellery, along with INR 1.5 lakhs in cash. The gang fled after the theft, and Nagesh regained consciousness the next day to find his valuables gone. While three of the suspects have been arrested, Ganesh and Geetha remain on the run. Prakash Shahi (46), Apil Shahi (41), and Jagadish Shahi (30), all from Nepal, were arrested in Bengaluru for their involvement in a robbery at the residence of NV Nagesh, the Sampige Theatre owner. The three men, along with house help Ganesh and his wife Geetha, masterminded the theft of cash and jewellery from Nagesh’s Jayanagar home. The plot was coordinated after Ganesh contacted the Shahi brothers, who travelled to Bengaluru to carry out the crime.  Bengaluru Police reviewed CCTV footage around the complainant’s Jayanagar residence, which helped them identify the suspects. The accused revealed that Ganesh had arranged for Prakash to travel from Nepal to Bengaluru to carry out the robbery. Upon arriving in the city, Prakash enlisted the help of two friends, and together they planned the heist. All the suspects were based near Varthur, and police were able to trace their whereabouts after matching their faces in the surveillance footage.
