Mumbai, September 5: Electricity supply is likely to take a hit in several areas of Bengaluru in Karnataka as the state electricity board has announced a power cut in the city. Areas in Bengaluru, the state's capital city, are expected to face power outages as the Karnataka Electricity Board has announced an eight-hour power cut due to maintenance operations. The state electricity board will undertake maintenance work from 10 am to 6 pm on September 6 and 7.
As per the official announcement, several areas will face a power outage for nearly eight hours from 10 am to 6 pm on Wednesday, September 6 and Thursday, September 7. The eight-hour power cut will be in effect for two days, reports Times Now. State electricity board officials said that maintenance works include periodical maintenance projects. Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) said that the maintenance work will also include reconductoring, jungle cutting and tree trimming, among other works. Notably, several areas in Bengaluru will face power cuts on Wednesday and Thursday.
Areas Where Power Cut Will Be in Effect on Wednesday:
On Wednesday, several areas, including Gundimadu, Agrahara, Kunagali, Gowdihalli, Gollarahalli, Mathod G. P., Karehalli G. P., Ramalingapura, Salapura, Balapura, Madenahalli, Mannamma Temple, and Sakshihalli will face power cut on September 6. Besides, the eight-hour power cut will also affect areas such as Tuppadakoana, Karemadanahalli, Gubbanna Industrial Estate, 6th Block, Rajajinagar, Apollo Bar Dtc - 38, Apollo Bar 7th Cross, Subbanna Gardan, Income Tax Layout, and Widia Layout.
On the other hand, Marenahalli, Maruthi Nagar 1st, 2nd, 3rd Main, Industrial Town, A. D. Halli, Kamakshipalya, Old Police Station Road, Swayam Prabha Road, Health Centre, Gadi Muddanna Road, Najappa Flour Mill and MLA House are a few areas where power supply will be cut from 10 am to 6 pm on September 6. The capital city of Karnataka will observe power outages in areas such as Gundimadu, Agrahara, Kunagali, Gowdihalli, Gollarahalli, Belagur Gp, Ballasamudra Gp, Ramalingapura, Salapura, Balapura, Madenahalli, Mannamma Temple, Sakshihalli, Tuppadakoana, Karemadanahalli, 1st & 2nd Block Rajajinagar, and Subbana Garden. While Vinayaka Layout, Bapuji Layout, Chandra Layout 60 Ft Road, Vyalikaval Layout, Kpa Block, and Wcr will also face power shortages on September 7.
The power cut on Thursday will also affect areas such as 1st, 2nd, 3rd Main, Industrial Town, A. D. Halli, Kempegowda Part, Laxmi Nagar, Kirloskar Colony, 1st Stage Karnataka Layout, Kaveri Nagar, Kasturi Layout, Chandra Nagar, Parts of Kamala Nagar, Ngo's Colony and Kurubarahalli surroundings.
