Bengaluru, October 21: Residents in several areas of the N-9 Sub Division of the Jalahalli Division in Karnataka's Bengaluru will face power interruptions on Wednesday, October 23. The Bengaluru power cut is being implemented due to emergency maintenance work at the 66/11 kV Vidia Substation. The Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) has announced that the outages will occur from 10 am to 5 pm.
Accordingly, Vinayaka Nagar, Vikas Nagar, Shobha Apartments, 8th Mile Road, Ramaiah Layout, Havanur Barangay, Narayana Layout, Vidya School, Kuvempu Nagar, Vidya Bus Stop, Reliance Fresh, Munikondappa Layout, Ashok Nagar, Vidya Nagar, Defense Colony, Manjunath Nagar, Mahalakshmi Nagar, Kataraya Nagar, Soap Factory Layout, Vijayalakshmi Layout, Andanappa Layout, BTS Layout, Siddeshwar Layout, Sasuveghatta, parts of Soladevanahalli, and Tarabanahalli Main Road will face the power cut on October 23. Additionally, residents of Havanur Barangay, Shesmarghatta Main Road, Sidedahalli, parts of Vishvesharayya Layout, Royal Enclave, Bairaveshwar Circle, and surrounding areas will also experience outages. Residents are advised to plan accordingly to minimise inconvenience.

In other news, the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) announced a complete disruption of water supply across the city on October 23, 2024, OneIndia reported. This interruption, scheduled from 9 am to 3 pm, is due to electrical-related work following the commissioning of the Cauvery Phase 5 drinking water project. The shutdown of the 220 kV substations in Tataguni and Harohalli will necessitate this six-hour water supply halt.
