Bengaluru: Man Resorts to Selling Ganja To Earn Quick Money for Sister’s Wedding, Gets Arrested With 5.2 Kg Drug Before First Sale

Bengaluru, September 11: The Bengaluru police recently arrested a 25-year-old man who reportedly decided to sell drugs to raise money for his sister's wedding. The accused, identified as Badruddin, is a native of Puttur in Dakshina Kannada district. The incident came to light when the police arrested Badruddin from SMVT railway station in east Bengaluru and recovered 5.2kg of ganja from him.

According to a report in The Times of India, Badruddin was arrested by the police even before he could sell his first consignment of the drug. On September 2, Badruddin was arrested soon after he arrived at SMVT railway station by train. During the probe, cops also learned that the accused was working at a hotel in the city and was facing difficulties meeting his family's financial needs. He also said that he was trying to raise money for his sister's wedding and, hence, resorted to selling ganja to make quick money. In a separate incident, CCB officials arrested a 30-year-old Kenyan from her rented house in Vidyaranyapura.

They also seized 96 grams of MDMA crystals from the woman's position, who was later identified as Rose. Cops said that the woman had come to India on a business visa in 2019 and was involved in drug peddling.
