The Bengaluru Commissioner of Police, Alok Kumar has withdrawn the ban on the sale of liquor from 6 pm today. In view of the political situation in the state, all the “bars, pubs and wine shops” were to remain closed till July 25.
Karnataka, July 24: The Bengaluru Commissioner of Police, Alok Kumar has withdrawn the ban on the sale of liquor from 6 pm today, according to an ANI update. On Tuesday, in view of the political situation in the state, all the “bars, pubs and wine shops” were shut for 48 hours till July 25. Section 144 was imposed across the state on Tuesday due to the political instability in the state. Section 144 prohibits the assembly of four or more people, has been imposed across state capital Bengaluru. The 14-month-old Congress JD(S) coalition government in Karnataka fell after its defeat on the floor of the Assembly forcing Kumaraswamy to resign. Immediately after the defeat, Kumaraswamy rushed to Governor Vajubhai Vala and submitted his resignation.
