Bengaluru, February 26: A shocking crime has come into light from Bengaluru, a 28-year-old man has been accused of allegedly raping a woman and blackmailing her for more than a year. The accused has been allegedly raping the victim since June 2017 and even extorted money from her. The rapist also used to blackmail her by saying that he would tell her husband. After the rape survivor's husband came to know about the incident he immediately filed a police complaint on Friday after which the accused was arrested on Saturday.

According to the Bangalore Mirror, the accused is identified as Vinodh Kumar, a resident of Muneshwara Layout situated in Laggere. Kumar allegedly raped his 26-year-old neighbour in 2017 when she was alone at home and warned her of dire consequences if she will reveal it to someone. When the victim's mangalsutra went missing her husband became suspicious. Later, he found that apart from the sacred chain, five rings and three pair of earring were also missing. When he tried to ask her wife, she initially remained silent but later revealed her travails. When the husband listened to wife's ordeal, he insisted her to file a complaint. Post the complaint, the accused was arrested under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
