Bengal: BJP Worker Held for Posting a Morphed Image of Mamata Banerjee and Naveen Patnaik

A BJP worker from Bengal has been arrested for sharing a morphed image of Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik.

Bengal, September 18: A Bharatiya Janata Party worker from Bengal has been arrested for sharing a morphed image of Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik, reports Zee 24 Ghanta. The BJP worker, Babuya Ghosh not only shared the morphed image on his Facebook wall but also made denigrating remarks about Mamata Banerjee. West Bengal: Morphed Images of Women on Social Media Trigger Clash in Samudragarh Town, 20 Injured.

The accused is a district-level BJP worker and was previously seen with many prominent BJP leaders including BJP state president Dilip Ghosh. According to the reports, as soon as he shared the images on social media, locals complained to the police. Police started the probe based on the complaint and finally, he was arrested and his mobile phone was seized. According to reports, Bengal police is looking to crack down on profiles who share photographs, which are insulting leaders and creating social disharmony.

Babuya in his Facebook wall had written "if a guy doesn't get married on time, he may get mad. But people of West Bengal are now understanding what happens when a girl doesn't get married on time." This comment and image didn't go well with the locals and they filed the complaint against him.

Previously, a Jadavpur University professor was arrested for sharing an animation mocking Mukul Roy, Ex-Trinamool Congress Leader. The arrest had led to outrage among people and professor was released later.
