The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which falls under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has brought into its fold a Belgian Malinois dog, a breed also used by the US Navy Seal team. The Belgian Malinois dog is also used by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The Belgian Malinois dog is now part of the dog family of the CISF after the CRPF. It will cost the CISF around Rs 1.50 Lakh. The dog has been named "Khoj" meaning discovery or search.

The Malinois is a medium-to-large breed of dog. It is sometimes classified as a variety of the Belgian Shepherd dog and not as a separate breed. The name "Malinois" is derived from Malines, the French term for the breed's Flemish city of origin, Mechelen.
