Beed, December 25: Maharashtra Police on Monday arrested two main accused in Sumit Waghmare murder case. After five days of hunting, Balaji Landge and Sanket Wagh were nabbed in Amravati district of Maharashtra, a senior police official said. With this, the number of those arrested in the case has gone up to three. Going back to the case, the victim, Sumit Shivaji Waghare, a third-year student at the Aditya Engineering College, was stabbed to death by Balaji Lande and Sanket Wagh outside the educational premises on December 19. The couple, Waghare and Bhagyashree Lande, had fallen in love with each other and decided to marry two months ago against the wishes of their family members. Extremely angry over this Landge and his friend Wagh plotted murder and allegedly killed Waghmare, later, the accused fled from the spot. Waghmare was taken to the hospital, where, he was declared dead on arrival.

To arrest them, police sent their photos and other information to various police stations in Maharashtra. During the investigations, they were traced in Amravati. "We sent our team to Amravati and both the men were nabbed from Badnera railway station there on Monday late night," said senior police officer. Earlier police had also arrested Krishna Kshirsagar for allegedly helping them to flee after the crime.
