Lucknow, September 8: In Meerut a swarm of bees attacked a group of pilgrims while they were attending a religious ceremony on Wednesday. The bee attack left a 55-year-old woman dead, along with 12 others injured, including a baby. The incident took place in Khajuri village as all of the pilgrims were travelling towards Bagar in Rajasthan.
Lalita Tyagi, according to reports, was stung several times on her head, face, neck, and hands, yet, she chose to return home rather than visit the community health clinic with other injured people. The victim, a farmer named Udesh Kumar (45), and his wife, Lakshmi Devi, were attacked while they were coming from their field after work. Devi was brought to Nagina Government Hospital in a critical condition, while Kumar passed away from his wounds immediately.
