Jaipur, August 27: A shocking incident has come to light from Rajasthan, where a pregnant woman was allegedly assaulted by her partner and his family members in Barmer. The incident occurred on the morning of Monday, August 26, at Ramdevria village of Barmer district. Cops said that the woman was left critically injured in the alleged assault.

She reportedly suffered fractures to her arms, and legs and multiple bruises. According to a report in the Times of India, the woman has been identified as Heeradevi Jat (30). Based on the woman's statement, the police resisted a case against the man and his family members. The victim told cops that her partner and his family assaulted her after she refused their demand for money. The main accused, the woman's partner was identified as Annaram Jat (30). In her statement to the police, Jat also said that her partner's family disapproved of her pregnancy and claimed that they wanted her to get rid of the unborn child.

She also stated that Annaram informed her brother about her condition and threatened to kill both of them. After physically assaulting the woman, the accused and his family members allegedly threw Heeradvi in front of her house in a semi-nude condition at Rateu village. In a separate incident, a 45-year-old man was beaten to death in Barmer district for allegedly having an affair with a widow. The deceased, Iman Khan, a driver, had gone to meet the woman at her house but was caught by her family members. They thrashed the man to death, cops said.
