Jaipur, August 25: A shocking incident has come to light from Rajasthan, where a Class XI student was arrested on Thursday, August 22, for allegedly bringing a knife to school. It is alleged that the student brought the knife to school to harm his classmate. Police officials said that the accused student was identified as Nilesh Bhagora of Government Senior Secondary School in Kupda village, Banswara.

They also said that the accused student would be tried as an adult as he had turned 18 in February earlier this year, reports TOI. The incident occurred on Wednesday when Nilesh came to school but skipped classes later. However, he had left his bag in the classroom. It is learned that the Class XI student was angry after he found that one of his classmates informed the teacher about him leaving school. On Thursday, Nilesh came to the school with a knife and confronted the student who had informed about him to the teacher. The accused student began assaulting and threatening his classmate. However, other students intervened and overpowered him.

They took Nilesh to the principal and reported about him carrying a knife. After a knife was found on Nilesh, the principal alerted the police who reached the school and arrested Nilesh. They checked his records and learned about him being 18. Post this, they arrested him. They said that the weapon was a hunting knife, which Nilesh bought for INR 500 at a religious fair near his village a few months ago. "This type of knife is not typically used in kitchens. We will investigate vendors in the area who sell these types of knives," an officer said. The accused student has been booked under various sections of the Arms Act.
